Our guest this week is Doug Haslam (@DougH), a PR veteran at SHIFT Communications. Doug recently commented on how his gung-ho use of social media has caused him to seen as a social media guy, though in reality social media is just one part of his job in PR (though it happens to be the most public side). In this interview he comments on the changing role of PR in a social media-ized world, and its affect on him as a PR professional and the companies that he works with.

This week we confronted New England’s raging ice storm to get a call in to balmy Georgia, where we talk to @Brent Leary, podcaster and blogger on the subject of Social CRM as well as co-founder and partner with the consulting/advisory firm CRM Essentials.
We talk about the implications of social media technology on the CRM process, and why the process of engaging and nurturing customer relationships is much more than software alone.
