The Governor’s Award for Business Excellence was created in 1991 and is presented to for-profit companies that have been in business in Maine for at least five years. A committee, which consists of employees of former winners, reviews the applications and makes their recommendations to the Governor. An event recognizing the winners will be held in the spring.
