Hall’s Favorite Apps and Websites of 2019

As 2019 winds down, we’ve been taking time to reflect on some of our favorite and most-used apps and websites of the year. Some are educational, some are convenient, and some are just plain good! What are the apps and sites that you’ve relied on this year?

Websites We Love

freeCodeCamp.org –  It has just about everything you need to become a full-stack web developer and it’s all free.

– Ryan Brooks, WordPress Developer

laravelshift.com –  It helps automate some of the processes of upgrading Laravel versions and has saved me so much time this year.

– Matt Harrison, Vice President of Technology

https://wp-cli.org/ –  WP-CLI is the command-line interface for WordPress. It can help expedite and automate a lot of tasks done in the backend.

– Tim Howe, Lead WordPress Developer

https://getpocket.com/ – The Pocket app and website, along with browser extensions, has made it simple to find and save articles on the internet to read later in a distraction-free presentation. The ability to easily jump into a story has reduced the time spent on social media.

– Tim Suellentrop, WordPress Developer

https://wptavern.com/ – Makes it easy to stay up-to-date with WordPress news. The website’s design is simple yet sleek and they don’t use distracting ads on the site.

– Irina Startseva, Junior WordPress Developer

Apps We Love

PetDesk –  PetDesk helps me schedule appointments at my vet and also I can create a profile for my dog, which makes sharing details with any new vet much easier.

– Joe Austin, Digital Marketing Assistant

Bleacher Report –  It’s a sports app where you pick your favorite sports and teams, and the app automatically pulls in every article, journalist tweet, and news update about each and organizes them into their own individual feeds.

– Ben Stallman, Client Account Representative

Strava – Fitness tracking with a social aspect. It keeps me connected with and inspired by my friends and fellow athletes.

– Olivia Nishi, SEO Specialist

1 Giant Mind– Best app I’ve found so far that teaches meditation. It makes meditation easy and accessible for everyone—and it’s free! If you’ve struggled with meditation in the past or if you have been meaning to give it a try, I recommend this app!

– Anna Pillsbury, Administrative Assistant

If there’s anything on this list that sounds intriguing to you, give it a try! We hope these websites and apps will improve your life as they have improved ours.
