Highlights from WordCamp US 2018

Two weekends ago, I attended WordCamp US in Nashville, TN. The largest WordPress conference in North America, WordCamp US attracts roughly 2,000 users and developers each year. This year’s sessions were on a variety of topics including web development, UX design, mobile experience, WordPress tools, and web privacy practices.

It was inspiring to come together with developers and marketers from all around the globe to discuss WordPress. With the exciting release of the new editor, Gutenberg, along with version 5.0 of WordPress, there was a lot of talk about the future of WordPress and the impact it has on the web as a whole.

Some of my favorite talks with links to their videos:

Thinking like a Front-End Developer – Chris Colyier

Investigating Regressions Quickly Using Git Bisect – John Blackbourn

Bridging the Gap with CSS Algorithms – Lara Schenck

Moving the Web Forward with WordPress – Morten Rand-Hendricksen

Nobody wants a website. They want results! – Dwayne McDaniel

The Evolution and Future of Publishing – Alexis Lloyd

Every talk was recorded and is available on the WordCamp YouTube channel. To find specific talks, you can view the 2018 WordCamp schedule.

WordCamp US 2019 will be held in St. Louis, MO, November 1-3.
